Growing slimes are what separate Slimekeep from other twin-stick roguelikes. The mechanic is simple to understand in the first room and still creating interesting decisions in the hundredth run. Small slimes are safe but poor. Big slimes are rich but deadly. The tension never goes away.

Weapons and Upgrades

80+ weapons is a claim many roguelikes make. In Slimekeep, the variety actually matters because weapons interact with the growth timer. Fast weapons let you kill before slimes mature. Slow weapons reward patience with massive damage. Your pet slime adds another variable. Builds emerge naturally from available tools.
